Interactions / Warnings:
- Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this tablet as it may cause low sugar levels or Lactic Acidosis (high lactic acid levels in the blood)
- This medicine is only for adults and is not safe for children
- Do not take a double dose of this Tablet if you miss a dosage, take it as soon as possible but if it is time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow the regular schedule prescribed by your doctor
Tell your doctor if you take any of the following before you take Gluconorm G2 Tablet
- Insulin (Injection or other forms)
- BP Tablets
- Water Pills (Diuretics)
- Medicines taken for Heart Failure or heart problems
- Tablets that are taken for Hypertension
- Steroids
- Thyroid hormones
- Antibiotics
- Calcium channel blockers (medicines for blood pressure)
- Antacids
- HIV/AIDS drugs
- Anticancer drugs
- Antifungals
- Other Antidiabetic drugs
- Anticonvulsants (Medicine taken for seizures)
Pregnancy interaction:
Pregnant or breastfeeding women must consult their doctor before taking Gluconorm G2 Tablet as it is unsafe to take this medication during pregnancy and it may affect the newborn baby

- Avoid skipping breakfast, lunch and dinner as it may cause low blood sugar levels while taking this medicine
- Check your blood sugar level regularly while you are taking this medicine
- This medicine can cause low blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia) when taken along with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss eating food
- Always carry some sweet food or fruit juice with you in case you experience cold sweats, cool pale skin, tremors (shaking of body parts without control), and anxiety (fear, stress, uneasiness) as these are signs of low blood sugar levels
- Your doctor may check your liver function regularly. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms, such as abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or yellowing of the eyes or skin (signs of jaundice)
- Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any deep or rapid breathing, continuous sick and vomiting sensation, and stomach pain as Metformin may cause a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis, which is an excess of lactic acid in the blood

Gluconorm G2 Tablet contains Glimepiride 2mg, Metformin 500mg
Glimepiride increases the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lower blood glucose
