Vofon 0.3 Tablet MD is used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is used along with diet and exercise to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes.

Voglishine 0.3mg Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.

Voglishine 0.3mg Tablet is to be taken with food.

Vofon 0.3 Tablet MD is an anti-diabetic medication. It inhibits an enzyme that helps in conversion of carbohydrates to glucose. This slows down carbohydrate digestion/absorption thereby preventing increase in blood glucose after meals.

Q. Does Vofon cause weight loss?
There is evidence that normal doses of Vofon does not cause significant weight loss. However, very high doses of this medicine can affect the absorption of food, thereby causing weight loss. Do not take this medication for weight loss as it is not approved for treatment of obesity. Do consult your doctor before starting this medication.

Q. How should you take Vofon?
Vofon is usually prescribed to be taken orally three times daily immediately before each meal. Vofon may be given along with a controlled diet. However, in case Vofon does not work alone, it may be given along with a proper diet and other antidiabetic medicines. Your doctor may further increase your doses if the given doses do not provide sufficient control over the blood sugar levels. Do not take this medication by yourself and consult your doctor before starting this medication.

Vofon has been found to be effective and well-tolerated in most patients with Type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Q. Does Vofon cause hypoglycemia?
No, unlike other oral antidiabetic medications or insulin, Vofon tablets do not result in hypoglycemia. Moreover, it has been seen that taking Vofon before the evening meal decreases the chances of night time hypoglycemia in diabetic patients taking insulin therapy.

Q. Why is Vofon used?
Vofon is a medicine used to control the blood sugar levels in patients with Type 2 diabetes. It decreases postprandial or postmeal rise in the levels of blood sugar by slowing down the digestion and conversion of complex carbohydrates (like starch) into simple sugars (monosaccharides). Thereby, decreasing the absorption of sugar from the intestine. This decreased absorption of sugar leads to decrease in blood sugar levels in patients with diabetes. This medication can also be used in patients who have prediabetes and are prone to develop diabetes in the future.
