- Do not take oxymetazoline if you have high blood pressure, heart disease including previous episodes of pain and discomfort in the chest, diabetes mellitus, thyroid problems, liver or kidney disorders and non-cancerous enlargement of prostate; hallucinations (seeing, hearing or feeling things that are not really there), restlessness, sleep disturbances; increased pressure in the eyes (glaucoma). \n
- Avoid taking this oxymetazoline if you have redness and swelling of the lining of your nose, or have scabs in your nose. \n
- Do not take oxymetazoline if you have a recent nose surgery or surgery to remove the pituitary gland; or tumor of adrenal glands (pheochromocytoma) that causes episodic or persistent rise in blood pressure. \n
- Take oxymetazoline nose drops for a maximum of 7 consecutive days to avoid rebound effect and drug induced rhinitis (runny nose). \n
