Doxedep 75mg Tablet is used for the treatment of depression. Also topically it is used for treatment of eczema (scaly, dry, itchy skin condition).. It is used in patients intolerant of or unresponsive to alternative treatment options for depression. It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Oxepin 10 Capsule

Oxepin 10 Capsule may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.

• Inform your doctor if you notice loss of consciousness,  agitation, reduced breathing rate, convulsions, muscle rigidity, and mouth dryness.
• You may be asked for regular blood tests to monitor the blood cell count or level of sodium and sugar in the blood.
• Inform your doctor if you notice behavioral changes, mood changes and suicidal thoughts while taking this medicine.

Oxepin 10 Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Q. Can I stop taking Doxedep abruptly?
No, you should always check with your doctor before you stop the treatment. Stopping the medicine abruptly may cause withdrawal effects. So, your doctor may reduce your dosage gradually before stopping the medicine completely. This helps to prevent a recurrence of the original symptoms of depression and reduce the chance of withdrawal effects.

Yes, stopping the use of Doxedep abruptly results in withdrawal symptoms which include insomnia (trouble falling asleep), irritability and excessive sweating. You should consult your doctor if you need to stop Doxedep who will advise gradual reduction of dose of Doxedep.

You should not take Doxedep if you have ever had an allergic reaction to antidepressants medicine (Doxedep), or any of the inactive ingredients of Doxedep. Avoid taking Doxedep if you have glaucoma (increased eye pressure), serious liver problems, are breastfeeding or are suffering from difficulty in passing urine. Do not take Doxedep if you are taking or have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) in the last two weeks or, suffer from mania (where you experience an abnormally elevated mood state) or are under 12 years of age.

Yes, Doxedep can be used in patients with bipolar disorder which means manic-depressive illness, in which there are periods of depression and periods of mood elevation.

Taking Doxedep may cause sleepiness, so you should avoid driving or working with machinery until the effect has worn off. Driving while taking Doxedep may cause sleep-driving. This refers to the instance of driving while not fully awake after taking a sleeping medicine, with loss of memory for the event and other serious side effects.

Overdose of Doxedep can be mild or severe. Signs and symptoms of mild overdose include drowsiness, stupor, blurred vision and excessive dryness of the mouth. Severe overdose may cause loss of consciousness, reduced breathing rate, convulsions, low blood pressure, unusually fast heartbeat or palpitations. If you take too many capsules, contact your doctor immediately or seek emergency medical services in a nearby hospital.

Doxedep may cause weight gain as well as loss of appetite, but it is not very common. Call your doctor if the weight gain or the loss of appetite is severe or does not go away.

Q. What is the best time to take Doxedep?
If you are taking Doxedep for insomnia, you should take it 30 minutes before bedtime and should confine your activities to those necessary to prepare for bed. Remember to take this medicine at the same time each day. If you are taking it for depression or anxiety, take it exactly as directed by your doctor.

Q. What are the side effects of Doxedep?
The side effects of Doxedep include nausea, vomiting, weakness or tiredness, dizziness, headache, hair loss, diarrhea, difficulty urinating, flushing and changes in appetite or weight. It may also cause increase in pupil size, dry mouth, mouth sores, changes in the way things taste, indigestion, constipation, excessive thirst and urination, ringing in your ears, changes in sex drive, swollen testicles, increased breast size, and milky discharge from nipples in females. It may make your skin more sensitive to sunlight, cause chills and excessive sweating.

Oxepin 10 Capsule is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
The baby should be monitored carefully for excessive sleepiness, and adequate weight gain.
