Cyproterone is used in the treatment of prostate cancer.

Caution is advised when consuming alcohol with Diane 35 Tablet. Please consult your doctor.

Diane 35 Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.

• You have been prescribed Cyproterone for the treatment of prostate cancer.
• Take it with or without food, preferably at the same time every day.
• Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration unless you know how Cyproterone affects you.
• It may cause your skin to become light sensitive. Avoid direct exposure to excessive sunlight and use sunscreen when outdoors.
• If you are diabetic, monitor your blood glucose regularly while taking Cyproterone.
• Your doctor may want you to have regular blood tests to monitor your liver function while you are taking this medicine. Inform your doctor if you notice yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine, or stomach pain.
• Do not stop taking the medication without talking to your doctor first.

Cyproterone : Rash, Dizziness, Decreased libido, Breast enlargement in male, Sleepiness, Weakness, Nausea, Abdominal pain, Dyspepsia, Weight gain, Increased liver enzymes, Breast tenderness, Anemia (low number of red blood cells), Depression, Decreased appetite, Flatulence, Constipation, Hot flashes;Ethinyl Estradiol : Headache, Nausea, Breast tenderness, Uterine bleeding

Diane 35 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Cyproterone blocks the effect of the natural male hormones on the growth of prostate cells. Cyproterone also blocks the undesired effects of androgens in females such as excessive hair growth and acne.

Cyproterone belongs to a class of medications called anti-androgens. It acts by blocking as well as reducing the effects of male sex hormone testosterone in the body

Q. How does it work?
It is used to suppress the effects of LHRH (luteinizing hormone releasing hormone; hormone which causes release of testosterone in men). It is used to reduce the excessive rise of testosterone (flare) when LHRH-like drugs are used (e.g. after prostate removal in prostate cancer)

Q. Does cyproterone lower testosterone?
Yes, cyproterone lowers testosterone by inhibiting the release of luteinizing hormone releasing hormone (LHRH) that is responsible for testosterone release in men
