Dr. Mahesh Sundaram is a distinguished surgical gastroenterologist and HPB (Hepatopancreatobiliary) surgeon with over two decades of extensive experience in gastrointestinal and liver surgeries. A gold medalist in Gastrointestinal Surgery, he has dedicated his career to mastering advanced surgical techniques, including laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures.
Dr. Mahesh began his medical journey with an MBBS from The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, followed by DNB in General Surgery and Gastrointestinal Surgery. His passion for hepatobiliary surgery was further honed through a fellowship at the Centre for Liver and Biliary Surgery (CLBS) under the mentorship of Dr. Subash Gupta, one of India's leading liver transplant surgeons.
He has served in premier healthcare institutions like Apollo Hospitals, Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, and Global Hospitals, where he gained expertise in managing complex conditions, including Whipple's procedure, liver transplants, and gastrointestinal cancers. As the Director of Progress GastroCare Centre, Chennai, Dr. Mahesh continues to lead the way in providing comprehensive care in gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary health.
